Some exciting news!
Ruth Atkins, our President Emeritus, has been chosen as the 2022 Woman of the Year honoree for this District by the California Assembly. The event is hosted by the California Legislative Women’s Caucus which encourages each California Assembly member to select one woman who resides in their district or who has significantly contributed to their district. This year Ruth was nominated and has been chosen as the one to receive this award. District Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto will formally present this honor to Ruth on March 18th at 10:30 am. Due to COVID, the award ceremony will not be held in Sacramento this year. Instead, they will be holding this ceremony locally at the LEHS History Museum!
We all get a chance to attend and watch our own special Woman of the Year receive this incredible award! Feel free to invite folks that would want to see this happen! The LEHS Museum is honored to provide the location for such a wonderful event.
